King Midas considers the uneasy threshold between abundance and consequence. The figure is held in a moment of stillness, where the promise of transformation becomes inseparable from its weight. Gilded bronze gives the surface a luminous authority while preserving the evidence of the hand beneath it.

The work began with a series of small clay studies before moving to a full-scale armature. Each transition in scale changed the balance of the posture, requiring the form to be rebuilt through accumulation, removal, and repeated observation from every side.
